My thoughts on how I feel regarding the ability to edit and
construct the perfect answer or question before pressing send definitely affects the way we present ourselves. Imagine if you were having a conversation
with someone and said something you weren’t supposed to say. For example, your friends surprise birthday
party or the beginning stages of talking to a girl and you said something too
soon, in which you regret you could’ve taken a few words back. Texting, E-mail, or even video chat changes the
way we word things, it gives us time to think of the perfect way to say
something the other person wants to hear rather than out right from your heart. In, "Identifying user behavior in online social networks" we see different behavior of online users that we wouldnt normally see outside the realm, as well as behavior patterns of interactions are different depending on groups and the media account that is being used.
These different virtual worlds can be used in a few atmospheres such as social, gaming, and healthcare. In the New York Times, Dave Itzkoff says he was able to leave the jam-packed club and enter it virtually when he arrived home, almost like Grand Theft Auto, except its way more realistic. One problem that I foresee is that virtual reality becoming too addicting for introverts or those who are just lazy to go out and enjoy the natural sunlight, which would then lead an even higher increase in obesity. However, there are some benefits to virtual reality as well like connecting with an old college classmate that's now in Europe while you're still in the U.S. In addition, this might be good for disabled people who don't have the mobility to travel from place to place.
